The large oil paints on canvas were created during the period that Jacqueline was taught at the National Academy of Visual Arts in Amsterdam. They show a mixture of abstract and figurative painting. The starting point was the large amount of sketches that Jacqueline made on a daily basis. From people on the street, around the table, waiting for their turn. Stiff, caricatured figures emerge. Despite the sometimes heavy colors, the highly worked canvases still clearly show traces of her teachers Jan Sierhuis and Ger Lataster.

The small wooden reliefs, painted on beach wood, are lighter in color, more playful in nature. They look like see-throughs, windows through which we can look outside. Jacqueline seems to have taken a new path with these reliefs. A road paved with a wealth of images and materials that give her more freedom in her works than she had works.

Her stay in Spain in 1987 also enriched her artistry in this respect. We find the Spanish influences in the collages and gouaches. Sometimes she processes her images figuratively, sometimes also abstractly. In these works, the colors maintain a brightness through which the Spanish frivolous life shine
