‘Figure’ (Figures)

Klaus Prior’s painting ‘Figure’, dated 2015, clearly shows that the artist is not interested in a portrait-like image of a person or a figure. It is rather the vulnerable existence of the individual that he wants to reveal. The aim is the universally recognised figure as an absolute form of expression.
Colour and gestural-expressive brushstrokes define the white surface that needs to be designed by the artist. It is about lending an external expression to the inner thought.
In his paintings and sculptures Klaus Prior is dealing with representing the felt point of culmination of existence, in the momentum, but also for eternity

Klaus Prior’s works, biography and literature is listed in SIKART (Lexicon of Swiss Artists)

The exhibition catalogue by EOS (2018) displays sculptures and paintings on location
